For Zaroff, hunting isn’t just a hobby; he has dedicated his entire life to the hunt. Fluent in English, French, and Russian, he is a renowned sportsman whose hunts have taken him all over the world, where he has hunted every game in every land. It all began at the ripe age of 5 when he received his first gun, which his father had specially made for him in Moscow. At 10, he killed his first bear in the Caucasus. He later enlisted in the Russian army where he commanded a division of Cossack cavalry. After leaving the military, he continued to hunt, traveling all over the world from the Rockies to the Ganges, the Amazon to East Africa among countless others. Finally, he settled in the American Plains and built a vast private reserve where he spends his days continuing his hunting pursuits.
Of his passion for hunting, General Zaroff has said, “God makes some men poets. Some He makes kings, some beggars. Me, He made a hunter. My hand was made for the trigger.” When you witness his incredible vigor and remarkable eye, you’ll find that there is no exaggeration in this marksman’s words. At 57, Zaroff has seen all that there is to see, hunted every game imaginable. Now he’s ready to focus his efforts on The Hunted: Predator or Prey to create the most exciting hunt in the world!
